Connect Parent Group

Connect Parent Group is an attachment-based program designed to support parents of pre-teens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13-17) with behavioural and emotional challenges. Each session provides parents with a new perspective on parent-teen relationships and adolescent development. Parents watch role-plays and try exercises that encourage more choices for responding to their teens’ difficult behaviour.

This group is 11 weeks in duration (10 sessions + 1 feedback session). Parents meet in small groups with two trained group leaders for 1.5 hours each week. The group running in Fall 2023 will be focused on caregivers of teens only (ages 13-17). We hope to hold a second group targeting pre-teens (ages 8-12) in the future.

The next Connect Parent Group will be offered in January 2024; see the schedule below:

• Tuesday evenings: Jan.9-March 26; 6:00-7:30pm

*Please note that there will be no group session during the week of March Break.
